GPU Allocations

Training Coordinators can secure guaranteed GPU resources for their courses by creating GPU allocations. By doing so, these courses take precedence over general GPU compute requests, ensuring that the necessary hardware is available to run training sessions and labs effectively.

 

To establish a GPU allocation for a course, follow the process below:

Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page and select the blue "Reserve GPU" button located beneath the Video conference option.

 

A dialog will appear prompting you to provide details for your GPU request.

The first field is for location, which defaults to "Anywhere".

If you know which city the participants are nearest to, you can specify this by selecting "Within distance from city".

For broader location coverage, you can choose "Others...".

Once you are satisfied with the location selection, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where you can define specific machine requirements.

In this section, specify all necessary resources per machine. This ensures an accurate estimate of the resource costs.

** Please ensure accuracy here, as this provides a more precise cost estimation and assists course managers in identifying resources if regional availability is low.

 

If you are satisfied with the entries, click Continue to move to the GPU requirements section.

In this part, it is advisable to discuss the specific needs with the trainer to determine exactly what is required for the course. Trainers will typically have a clear idea of the GPU Vendor and Model needed to deliver their curriculum. If you or the trainer are unsure, please leave this set to "ANY".

Currently, we only offer two vendors (AMD & Nvidia).

Regarding models, our current catalogue is listed. If you are uncertain about the trainer's specific needs, once again, please leave this as "ANY".

 

Once you are content with the reservation details, click "Place reservation". This will allocate the funds, activate the reservation, and mark it as active on the course page, as shown below:

 

If you receive new information regarding the required GPUs for the course and modifications to the reservation are necessary, please contact DD support to assist in editing the GPU reservation request.
