Continue Using Your Desktop After the Course Finishes

DaDesktop offers a handy feature that lets course participants seamlessly keep using their course machine for practice after the training concludes. Before the course wraps up, participants receive an email asking if they'd like to retain access to their desktop to continue practising.

 

Usually, each participant's course desktop is taken down shortly after the course finishes. But if you'd like to keep yours around to practise the lab exercises, you can clone it into a 'Standalone Desktop' for future use.

To do that, go to your Course and your Desktop machine, then click the 'Use desktop after course' button beside your machine.

 

Then, DaDesktop walks you through the straightforward steps and lets you 'Enable' this feature.

After enabling it, the following indicator will appear next to your course machine

When the course ends, you can reach your Standalone machine by clicking the Standalones menu at the top of your screen.

Standalone machines that haven't been used for a month are automatically removed, but an advance warning email is sent out beforehand. This gives you plenty of notice if you'd like to keep using any of your Standalone machines.
